SCCAP Weatherization Program
SCCAP Weatherization serving Adams, Franklin, and Cumberland Counties in Pennsylvania Weatherization is a permanent solution to high energy prices. Energy conservation no longer means just turning down the thermostat and putting on a sweater, it now means making the energy we use more efficient. Program Mission The Weatherization Assistance Program aims to reduce the energy costs of low income families - primarily the elderly, disabled and families with children - by making energy efficient improvements to their homes and providing client energy education. Funding for the program comes from the Federal Government through the Department of Energy, and the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. Throughout Pennsylvania, the Weatherization Program is administered by the PA Department of Community & Economic Development. South Central Community Action Programs, Inc. (SCCAP) administers the program locally for Adams, Cumberland and Franklin counties. SCCAP also provides weatherizaion services through the First Energy Met-Ed & Penelec WARM Programs (Adams, Franklin, Cumberland, York Counties) , Allegheny Power's Usage Reduction Program (Franklin County) and UGI's Weatherization Program (Cumberland County and Harrisburg City). SCCAP Weatherization is a component of South Central Community Action Programs, Inc., a provider of human service programs for the betterment of low income families in South Central Pennsylvania.
